TYLER MITCHELL INSPIRED.
Overview

This series draws direct inspiration from Tyler Mitchell’s groundbreaking editorial photography for Vogue, particularly his shoot with Harry Styles. Mitchell’s signature style - soft lighting, pastel tones, gender-fluid styling, and a dreamlike, romantic atmosphere - was a central influence in developing this body of work.

At the heart of this photoshoot is the celebration of fluid identity, softness, and self-expression beyond traditional gender norms. Mitchell’s portrayal of Harry Styles blurred the boundaries between masculinity and femininity, and this series pays homage to that by embracing vulnerability, movement, and elegance in both styling and composition.

The images use natural lighting, warm tones, and thoughtful posing to evoke a sense of gentle confidence and openness. Clothing and props were chosen to reflect a whimsical, almost theatrical style - subverting conventional fashion narratives and allowing the subject to exist freely outside of rigid expectations.

This project aims not just to replicate Mitchell’s aesthetic, but to understand its cultural impact - how photography can be used as a tool for redefining representation. It challenges what it means to be seen as “fashionable,” “masculine,” or “feminine” and invites the viewer to reconsider the limitations of those labels.
Ultimately, this shoot is about freedom. Freedom in identity, freedom in fashion, and freedom in expression - captured through a lens of softness and strength, just as Mitchell achieved in his iconic work.
